What is a HSPF rating?
HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. HSPF is a heating efficiency rating for heat pumps. The higher the rating, the more efficient the heat pump. A more efficient heat pump will result in less energy use and increased energy savings over the life of the system, compared to a less efficient heat pump.
The Heating Seasonal Performacne Factor is a rating aimed at measuring the efficiency of a heat pump. The higher the HSPF rating, the more efficiently the heat pump operates. When a manufacturer puts a HSPF rating on a heat pump it will be the optimal number but not nessisarily the efficiency rating you will experience.
HSPF is a good measuring tool but like SEER it's certainly not the entire story behind energy efficiency. Many things factor in. For the best results consult a Titan HVAC professional.
